The Republican National Convention will be held in Saint Paul, Minnesota September 1-8, 2oo8. Anyone willing to make a road trip up there those days? It should be a super fun time. Then again it could be like 2004, when Bloomberg banned the sale and wearing of gas masks in the city. Still, it would be super fun.
Before the RNC is the DNC... that will be the 25th of August to the 28th in Denver. Yet another fun trip I feel...
This is for you Mr. Frey.

Funny story...
apparently some stores are beginning to accept foreign currency, especially in big cities. How fucked is our economy? I can't believe that people did not believe the foreshadowing six years ago when things started to get tossed into the shitter. This is just proof that the ideology that if you give breaks to the rich, they will benefit the poor is a joke.
In the wake of this, I do not understand how anyone could look at any member in the Republican or Democratic party, and think things are going to be different when we have a new president. They will get better for a few years, and then right back down. Everything going on right now should be the final few nails in the coffin of amerikkkan demockracy. The more time goes by here, the more I want to stay and make it better... but right now jumping ship seems logical.
Erik asked me a question the other day, and it was something along the lines of, "If a revolutionary underground made its way through Omaha, would I leave and join it?" I thought a lot about it, and hell yes I would. Even if I were just some random street fighter, I would pick up and be out in a heartbeat. This is why I find myself wanting to organize students around me, and once the weather permits I am going to begin leafleting around campus, and anyone who would be willing to help me, please do. The movement would be for anyone tired of the status quo and anyone that knows there is something better out there for us all, as I said before... we need to seize our lives.
On another note, I have noticed a lot of the 'left' wing kids, mostly student Democrats here at UNO regularly indulge in Starbucks. Funny thing is that there is an MJ Java on campus, a local coffee company. I guess conglomerates that piss all over mom and pop business are attractive to the apathetic left today. Not to mention that whole anti-farm union thing.

Something new...
If you navigated here from my xanga, thank you. If you stumbled on here some how please keep reading and leave me feedback. It is good to know that there are people out there that care.
I decided to make a blogspot seeing as anyone could comment on it. I hope that every once in a blue moon some random person will stumble upon my blog and take something from it. I will use this as an out from time to time, when I am unable to communicate something fully to those around me. As of right now there is nothing really chipping away at me other than that everything with elections in this country is just a copy and paste of four years ago. Some of the rhetoric has changed, but all in all it is still a popularity contest that is ignoring issues that influence citizens of the world, not only the US daily. It is sickening. I long for a time when students will stand up for their own people, instead of supporting a candidate that will not deliver a damn thing upon being inaugurated into office. Damn political rallies for people that don't give two shits about the underprivileged, and damn anyone that feels putting a Democrat in the White House will do anything more than change a few tax laws. Three years from now US troops will still be in Iraq, free trade will still prosper, and Israel will still undermine any attempt at peace in the middle east. On that note, I found this from a few years ago and it made me laugh.
